To live in hearts
we leave behind
Is not to die.
While, I walked along the seashore. A small pebble caught my attention. The child in me kept it in my treasure bag,to pull it out later. Then, there was a visible joy and pleasure on my face. I would dance my way back home. Proudly displaying the kingly possession to my mother . She was the only one who knew it was precious. For a few days, after school the first thing I did was to open the treasure bag, to check if it was safe. It had certain, hidden, positive charm and I believed it for true. Perhaps, it would bring good luck to me.
As I was about to finish my walk along the shore line today. I saw the same pebble, I picked it up. Thought for a while, I felt my mom smile with me. I tossed it back into the sea. She is not at home, I said to myself. She sleeps in that fathomless sea. I hope, she must have seen my new found treasure and kept it safe for me.
